Here are JUST THE FACTS:
• Current-year funding (ending September 30) which is appropriated is being scrutinized and funds are not being received in a timely manner. Agencies like AgeLinc are doing everything possible to continue services while awaiting funding that is appropriated and that we depend on.
• The Administration for Community Living, the agency that runs Meals on Wheels, is being dismantled.
• The Federal Budget for next year has proposed complete eliminations of programs you may know and use:
✅ Senior Health Insurance Counselors (SHIP) – These trusted guides assist you during Medicare open enrollment.
✅ LIHEAP Energy Assistance – Helping older adults stay warm through this benefit.
✅ Health and Wellness Programs – Classes like Tai Chi, Aging Mastery, and A Matter of Balance will disappear.
✅ AmeriCorps Programs – Foster Grandparents, Senior Companions, and RSVP are being eliminated.
⚠️ Medicaid Cuts – These threaten Homemaker Services, medical alert systems, and most seriously, nursing home care. Did you know 69% of nursing home residents depend on Medicaid? That is 42,495 people.

What a great man! Today we said good bye to a man who served on our Board for 20 years. He served 2 terms as President. He retired 2 years ago at 93. It was a privilege to meet his 3 sons today and tell them what all he meant to us as an agency and as person. Rest in Peace Ferrel.
