Since adequate nutrition is critical to health, functioning, and the quality of life, Meals On Wheels of C.E.F.S. is an important component of home and community-based services for seniors over 60 years of age.

Congregate programs promote dignity and independence for seniors. The group dining program provides a socially interactive network which promotes mentally healthy activity and decreases creeping isolation and depression.  Group dining provides a healthy meal, friendship, and fun to seniors over 60 years of age.

A home-delivered meal is so much more than a meal…it not only provides a hot nutritious meal but just as importantly, provides a daily check on the home-bound senior by a caring volunteer on a daily basis.  A hot nutritious meal and a few moments of companionship can sometimes be enough to prevent early institutionalization for home-bound seniors.

Project Bread is a nutritional program providing a well-balanced noon-time meal for senior citizens (men and women over the age of 60).  This Project is the idea of Basic Right of the Elderly to an Adequate Diet and is funded by Midland Area Agency on Aging.

Project Bread helps senior citizens maintain their physical health by providing essential nutrients at the noon-time meal.  In addition, nutritional information is provided through speakers and pamphlets.

Those unable to attend at the meal-site may be eligible for the Home Delivered Meal Program.

Project Bread contributes to the general well-being of senior citizens through social contracts, stimulation companionship, and the benefits of friendship, conversation, social activities and services.

A donation or contribution is asked to help defray the cost of the meal.  In most of our sites the suggested donation is $3 per meal or the amount a senior can personally afford.  No senior citizen will be turned away because of the lack of the ability to contribute; however, the services we provide greatly depends on the donations that are received.

Our at-home caregivers assist with independent daily living activities so you or your loved one can have Great Days and Meaningful Moments while receiving in-home care or assistance. Whether it’s ongoing assistance for post-hospital care or just extra help on a regular or intermittent basis, we can help you or your loved one at home avoiding nursing home or rehab center stays.

We know the ability to remain independent, stay in familiar surroundings, and engage socially promotes physical and mental health for our clients. And we work to find the right care plan and innovative solutions to help seniors and individuals with short- and long-term disabilities stay in their own homes.

The Ombudsman Program is a program which assures people who reside in long-term care facilities receive quality care and a dignity of life at the highest practical level. Certified Ombudsmen visit residents in long-term care facilities to: inform residents of their rights as mandated by Federal and Sate law, empower residents to engage in problem-solving efforts on their own behalf, follow up on resident concerns, and resolve complaints with resident consent.
