Come see us next week. We have a lot of fun planned and in the process you will learn about so many resources.

Here are JUST THE FACTS:

• Current-year funding (ending September 30) which is appropriated is being scrutinized and funds are not being received in a timely manner. Agencies like AgeLinc are doing everything possible to continue services while awaiting funding that is appropriated and that we depend on.

• The Administration for Community Living, the agency that runs Meals on Wheels, is being dismantled.

• The Federal Budget for next year has proposed complete eliminations of programs you may know and use:

✅ Senior Health Insurance Counselors (SHIP) – These trusted guides assist you during Medicare open enrollment.

✅ LIHEAP Energy Assistance – Helping older adults stay warm through this benefit.

✅ Health and Wellness Programs – Classes like Tai Chi, Aging Mastery, and A Matter of Balance will disappear.

✅ AmeriCorps Programs – Foster Grandparents, Senior Companions, and RSVP are being eliminated.

⚠️ Medicaid Cuts – These threaten Homemaker Services, medical alert systems, and most seriously, nursing home care. Did you know 69% of nursing home residents depend on Medicaid? That is 42,495 people.

If we lose these services, where will people go?
